Albs Price Recon -- 6/24 to 6/30

Here is my price recon for this week. Okay, so this list was a bit longer than last week. I can tell right now if we get another one of those sales where there are like 300 items included...you're on your own! *wink* LOL! Most likely I'll pick my top 10-20 favorites and check for the rest on the "master" price list I'm starting.

Hopefully by next week I'll have figured out a better way to insert the price comp. into my posting. If anyone has ideas, please share!

Here's how the Albs sale prices compare with Walmart & Winco:

Wow that was an incredible amount of work! I admire you for taking it on.

My husband and I have shopped for years comparing prices between winco, walmart, and albies.

I also consulted with a friend who does the three stores plus Cosco. We all concluded that Winco is a good deal for house brands, meat, bulk, and pretty good for items that you can't get on an albertsons deal. They are usually higher for cleaners and non edible items.

Conversely Walmart is better with cleaners,TP and non edible items most of the time especially if an item is on rollback. Often they do not have the exact product we are looking for and it makes it hard to compare. We found the selection was limited at both stores but if I have the choice I shop at Winco for food and Walmart for hygeine and disposables etc. If you follow PYP the Winco and walmart hot items will usually match the PYP middle price before coupons. So you can get 4-5 star deals but nothing outrageous.

If Albertsons has a mega sale or what we call a "Calculator" sale then you usually do fine buying their five star deals and most often beat Winco/Walmart ( but not always) applesauce, juice and granola bars are seldom a better deal at albies unless you can double a coupon or do some calculator combination deal.

Also sometimes the three stores get discounts on the same items at the same time so it does pay to price check if you are buying in quantities.

Lately Albies has had a lot of solid sales that have made it very hard to beat them. I did buy two cases of Seneca applesauce and all of my soymilk from Winco last month.

HTH. I look forward to reading more of your posts.
